APTA MA is looking for student volunteers to join a task force on APTA Membership.
APTA or APTA MA membership is not a requirement.
Overview: APTA membership continues to be a primary focus at the state and national level. Despite efforts to identify member value, implementation of incentive programs, and marketing campaigns, membership growth remains stagnant. The purpose of this proposal is to identify how students and early career members relate to the APTA. Our organization wants to better serve its members and create a community that all physical therapy professionals and students can genuinely benefit from. To best identify how to create this community, we need to engage with the members who comprise this community.
Target Group: PT and PTA students and early career professionals (0-5yrs)
We’re forming a working group of about 15 – 20 individuals: students from PT and PTA programs across the state, along with early career professionals currently practicing in Massachusetts. This group will collaborate directly with a board member (President-Elect) to focus on the following:
Your mission:
- Explore what makes a professional community appealing to you and your peers — what would make you want to join and stay engaged with APTA?
- Develop and present 1–3 proposals to the APTA MA Board of Directors by June 15th to help grow membership.
- At least part of your proposal should be feasible to launch by September 1st (to align with a grant opportunity).
