Learn more about the APTAMA DEI Taskforce and DEI Metrics in APTAMA Membership

Thank you for your interest in learning more about the DEI Taskforce. We have identified the following areas of focus for our Taskforce:

  • Educational Resources - Creating this page was this groups first mission! Now we will look to bring more educational discussions and live programming to the chapter in the coming months.
  • Community Service - How can we positively impact our community, especially areas in Massachusetts that have a large percentage of underrepresented minority groups, and increase awareness of the physical therapy profession?
  • Academia - What are DPT and PTA programs across the state doing to ensure inclusiveness? What can we do better to diversify our profession? What is the breakdown of our current student body?
  • Mentorship - You'll see changes to our upcoming Mentorship Program in January that helps to match interested members with shared experiences.
  • Policy - Are APTAMA Bylaws inclusive to all? Are there policies on a state level that we should be supporting and lobbying for?
