Norwood Sheraton Four Points

Notice to all Members/Save the Date

APTA of MA members

The Fall Assembly of Representatives is scheduled for the evening of Oct 28, 2017 following the APTA of MA Fall Conference.  This is an excellent chance for networking, education and Chapter involvement.  All members are invited to this important Chapter business meeting. This meeting is similar in concept to town meeting with elected town meeting members or to the House of Representatives or the Senate.

What Happens:

  • Your elected representatives work in carrying out the business of the Chapter and directing its work.
  • We follow Robert’s Rules of Order
  • Town Hall Discussion on the value of The Rep Assembly vs Annual Business Meeting.
  • We also hear reports and updates on the many activities and programs taking place in our Chapter including the work of our Public Policy committee who has been actively involved at the State House with legislation to protect our profession, our clients and the public. To see the Issues at hand check out our website, please log in to Members Only and then use this link: https://www.aptaofma.org/MemberDirectory/Members-Only-Legislative/August-Lobbyist-Update/
  • Suspension of the Rules for any Discussion

How Does This Affect You and Your Membership?

  • As a member if you have an issue or concern that the Chapter should address you can contact your district representatives who will help you and will help determine if this is an issue or concern that should be brought to the Assembly as a motion for consideration.
  • Motions need to be presented to the Speaker at least 30 days prior to the Assembly
  • Additional motions may come up at the Assembly but would need a vote to be heard

You do have a voice!  Please contact us before the Assembly and please plan on attending.  You’ll find out what is happening in your Chapter and how you can participate and become involved.

Looking forward seeing you at our Conference as well as The Assembly in October!

Victoria Rainville, PT, DPT

Vice President/ Speaker of the Assembly
