Vision & Mission

APTAMA Mission

The Mission of the APTA of MA is to elevate the profession and standards of practice of physical therapy to promote the health and wellness of the people of Massachusetts.

APTAMA supports the Vision of the National APTA

Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience.

In creating the current vision statement, the House gave due attention to each word. California delegate Terrence M. Nordstrom, PT, EdD, spoke about the meaning of the words "human experience."

The APTA of MA strives to provide a central forum for the exchange of information for physical therapists and their patients in Massachusetts, as well as a center for continuing education.   In addition, the APTA of MA endeavors to inform physical therapy patients of what is available to them and to collaborate with insurers to ensure fair practices.

Physical therapists, physical therapy assistants and students can become members and gain access to our Members Only Section, which will provide additional resources for continuing education and career advancement.  If you are not a member click here to begin the application process.
