The next southeastern district conference will be Thursday, April 3rd, at 5:30pm in the Martins Conference Room at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, MA.  This year the district will be hosting two district meetings, including educational topics and APTA highlights relevant to the southeastern district.

At last year’s fall Assembly meeting, the representatives voted to have a spring and fall Assembly meeting for 2008.  To keep the southeastern district APTA members up-to-date on the chapter highlights, we will be complimenting those Assembly meetings with two conferences of our own, scheduled approximately one month before each Assembly meeting.  This will help our goal of improving communication among the district members, and offer additional continuing educational opportunities close to home.

Please join us in April for a light dinner, meet and greet your elected Assembly representatives, learn how APTA can improve the way you practice, and take home valuable clinical skills taught by the some of the district’s leading experts in the field.  Also, find out how you can nominate your colleagues for the Lucy Buckley award, which recognizes therapists in the southeastern district for their commitment and advancement to the field of physical therapy.

The district would like to congratulate Sharon Solomon, PT, of Southcoast Orthopedics, on her newly appointed position as District Delegate.  Her clinical expertise and leadership ability ensures that the southeastern district will be well represented at the state level!

Catherine Hoell, PT, MS, OCS,
Chief Assembly Representative Southeastern District
