Current Legislative Issues

The Division of Health Care Finance & Policy (DHCFP), in collaboration with the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), is required by state law to hold annual public hearings regarding health care costs, provider and insurer costs, and strategies to mitigate these cost trends.  Governor Patrick,  members of his administration,  Insurance company executives, Hospital CEOs, Public health and policy experts, consumer groups, employer groups and health care professions have testified at a series of hearings on Health Care Cost Trends.   At one of the hearings, Dr. Aimee Klein, a member of the legislative committee and a Director of the APTA presented testimony on behalf of the APTA of MA.   The Legislative Committee, along with the Reimbursement Policy Committee will continue to meet with state legislators to inform them of the issues that physical therapists and our patients face in regards to health care payment and reimbursement.
